  1. Backset: usually 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (distance from door edge to center of hole).

  1. Remove the interior screws and pull off the old lock hardware.

  2. Slide out the latch from the door edge.

  3. Install the new latch (make sure it’s oriented correctly).

  4. Fit the exterior and interior pieces, then tighten screws evenly.

  5. Test the lock with the door open first, then closed. Adjust the strike plate if needed.
